New York Bows Before Bubbly King Karl
The occasion was the global launch of the 1998 vintage of Dom Pérignon and the accompanying advertising campaign photographed by Karl Lagerfeld. The dress code was sensual, the venue the Skylight Studio in TriBeCa, which for the House of Dom Pérignon, complete with dripping candles, a picture gallery, giant boudoir and bath. Five hundred guests, including actor Julian Moore, designers Donna Karan and Tommy Hilfiger (owner of the Lagerfeld Gallery label).

First Class Vintage Lagerfeld
When it comes to living life well, renaissance man Karl Lagerfeld does it better than most. It is for exactly this reason that Dom Pérignon chooses the accomplished designer, photographer, publisher and al to conjure up a vision of life lived in excess for the release of its 1998 vintage. “Karl Lagerfeld is an excellent photographer and we love what he does,” says Frédéric Cumenal, CEO of the venerable champagne house.
